Now I find Grace a bit one-dimensional (and this is coming from someone who shares a lot of personality traits with her, such as being uber-responsible, type A personality, etc). When I was younger I identified a lot with Grace, and I swooned over the romance between her and Sam. Years later, I find myself still enjoying the series but for different reasons. Maggie Stiefvater’s werewolf series drew me in instantly with the romance, the tragedy, and the emo-tastic, yellow eyed Sam. I was fresh off of my Twilight binge reading and looking for something that dabbled in similar concepts. I first read the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy back in high school, and I remember instantly being smitten. And Isabelle, who already lost her brother to the wolves. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. and figuring out a way to survive into the future. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. Goodreads Synopsis: I n Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other.
