Isaac is portrayed by English actor Mark Jackson. After the end of the conflict, Isaac married Claire. Following an attempt at genocide by the Krill and the Moclans with the weapon, Isaac succeeded in getting the other Kaylon to view organic life as he does thanks to Charly's self-sacrifice.
Working with Charly Burke, Isaac later developed a weapon capable of destroying the Kaylon, one which he himself was immune to due to severing his link to the Kaylon synchronization matrix. He was later resurrected as he was the only source to defend the Orville against the Kaylon and that Marcus felt guilty for telling Isaac to kill himself. He left a message shortly before deactivation - how to improve the quantum drive of the Orville and his wishes to the Fin n fam ily. One year after the Battle of Earth, Isaac committed "suicide" (deliberate deactivation) after he was continuously harassed/bullied by the crew of the Orville over the Battle. He had a brief, if tumultuous, relationship with Doctor Claire Finn from mid- 2420 until early 2421, which was later rekindled after Claire forgave him for his actions. Isaac was fascinated by the culture and experiences of biological life. After the Battle of Earth in February, Isaac returned to serve on the Bridge of the Orville, but was never officially recommissioned as a Union officer. He briefly deactivated in January 2421 and resigned his commission upon reactivation. Unlike the other officers on the ship, Isaac was not a member of the Union.įor most of his career, Isaac worked as a representative of the Kaylon on a "provisionary commission" to the Union.
